About Me and the Project itself

Personal project made public

The Ultimate ETS2 Dashboard was originally a personal, private project I started back in 2021. Since it has grown and I ended up completely over-engineering a simple dashboard that I wanted to have a virtual, minimalistic style for simple purposes.

As it expanded, mostly because I just wanted to test the boundaries of NCalc, JavaScript and SimHub's Dash Studio (as well as the ETS2 Telemetry) this project turned into something absolutely over the top. So I decided, if I already put so much work into it, why not give others the possibility to use it, especially since it has features I haven't seen on other dashboards yet; now I want to make something that goes beyond just being a "second screen dashboard" and revolutionize it so that you are not wasting your second monitor just by having some gauges that your truck already shows you anyways.

Version I found from 2022

Before usable menu (everything you see is on one single screen, there is no extra controls or anything besides this visual)

A lot of things are missing, the map wasn't a thing yet, main gauge was empty, no extra icons and a lot of extra functionalities on the backend weren't there.

A bit about myself

I'm just a 23 year old Software Developer from Germany, I actually mostly work with Client Applications in C# and Java as well as some C and C++ so this project was my first contact with JavaScript.

Been coding since around 2014 including spare time coding, professionally developing started in 2018 when I started studying Game Design (didn't graduate because of personal reasons), afterwards I started an apprenticeship as a Software Developer to make money and support my family, now I am a Full-Stack Software Developer who just loves to game and expand games' boundaries.

My love for Simulator Games, especially Euro Truck Simulator 2, is what finally started my passion for expanding the average driving setup from controller to driving sim setup and at the end, wanting to see and control every extra without using a keyboard additionally to wheel controls. Which lead me to designing a Dashboard designed with SimHub, after many years of designing and expanding and about 2300 hours of playtime (as of April 2024).
